A new section of Unisinos Journal of Philosophy (Filosofia Unisinos) http://revistas.unisinos.br/
Philosophy South is a new special section of the Brazilian philosophy journalUnisinos Journal of Philosophy(Filosofia Unisinos, ISSN: 1984-8234)dedicated to short-length papers written in English. We seekto publish clear and concise scholarly works from all philosophical traditions that advance anoriginal thesis.
Our parent journal Unisinos Journal of Philosophy is a fully peer-reviewed, open-access publication hosted by Unisinos, a Jesuit University in the South of Brazil. It is committed to publishing papers of high academic quality accessible to a wide audience in Latin America, and it is the single publication from Brazil, and one of the few in Latin America, indexed in both Isis-Web of Science and Scopus.
Philosophy South commences with Unisinos Journal of Philosophy’s first issue of 2016 (Vol. 17th), winter issue for the Southern Hemisphere and summer issue for the Northern Hemisphere.
Deadline and Essay Prize: We have also secured an essay prize of $300 for the best contribution received, repeated for the first three issues of Philosophy South. The dead line for the first edition of Philosophy South was the 31st of March and we had had an encouraging response from the international community.
The dead line for the second edition will be 15th August And for the last edition of this year: 15th October (anticipated!).
For those from Brazil, Latin America, and elsewhere who are not native English speakers, we will continue to offer our free editing service to improve the style of accepted papers. The aim, as with our parent journal, is to remove all obstacles restricting communication of philosophical ideas between the North and the South.
All submissions will be subjected to rigorous double blind review. Submissions should be anonymous, written in English, and not more than 5,000 words in length. Contributions may be submitted through our website. For more information about layout, style, and the submission and review process, please see the Instructions for Authors:
